If that doesn't work see if there is a Bios update, if you go into the Bios from start up you will see the current version displayed. I searched for updated drivers, found version 126.96.36.199 dated 2015-12-10 (later than Dell latest 188.8.131.52) but to no avail - still same unreliable operation. I upgraded from 184.108.40.20612 to 10.18.10.4176 and my problem went away. It just complained about the hibernation file being too small and something about a setting for when running off a battery.
As I mentioned earlier: if you have a lot of system memory and slow hard drive and are using hibernate mode, this will result in slower wake times. - I don't know which processor you are using but, I have a Intel core i3 (laptop) and I had problems with it for the 1st 4 months I owned it.

Then saw your post regarding the 02Micro drivers and was able to work like a charm afterwards. I also use ZoneAlarm for my firewall. However, almost all the hibernation problems I have seen came down to bad drivers. Thank you so much for posting this!

You just saved me a lot of time and energy by posting this. I put Never to turn off the hard disk, Sleep after never, and that's about it.
