I can't thank you enough; you saved from format precious data I have in my HD. You can run, for instance, explorer.exe from task manager and get a programs menu and task bar. It booted fine with the SSD as the main drive and the old drive as a slave… until I formatted the old drive to use as storage. http://zgraham.com/safe-mode/xp-boot-loop-can-t-even-boot-to-safe-mode.html

Same goes for method 2. It should find all your windows installations and you can choose then for each installation you have if you want to add it into the windows boot loader. If you ran the command correctly and pointed it to the correct windows folder then it sounds like your installation is corrupted.
- I like to do this since, with some cloning tools, it can be tricky if both Source and Target HDD's have data on them.

- Follow the doc above and get to the point where it says "list partition" and tell me what it says.
- I had a similar problem a while back when I was trying to recover my Win 7 from an external Hard Drive, but kept connecting it to my USB 3.0 port
- You may receive a similar error which lists the error code as 0xc0000034 or missing file: windows\system32\winload.exe instead.
- I also can’t log into any accounts because they’re not listed, even in safe-mode (probably because they’re on a different drive letter).
- The reason for that is that my BIOS is still set to "IDE" mode instead of "AHCI" (Advanced Host Controller Interface) mode.
