I eventually found a driver provided by Leshcat (http://leshcatlabs.net/downloads_unfil/), which was really intended for Catalyst/Intel graphics, but each driver was able to be installed individually. Has to be driver related. It was something to do with the drivers interfering with each other. Thanks! have a peek here
