Thank you, thank you, Thank you !!! System Error: The parameter is incorrect. . Have been struggling for days to update a fresh install of Win 7 Pro SP1 and this did the trick. I then loaded all the updates as windows suggested.
I followed each step which ended with me getting an error (0X800703fo) while trying to install the stand alone file. Any ideas for me? I had used the factory reset disks that came with the laptop to reset it to OEM state and then found that it would not update any better than the clobbered so I back-up my files and did a clean reset.
