Its not a driver issue i just updated everything including the bios which was a pain the arse... Everytime a bit squeezes into my brain a byte falls out. - Tried all the roll backs, driver download/reloads, nothing worked until I tried Yahoda Klaus' suggestion of moving the sound card to another PCI slot.

I'm assuming that this means that my battery is dead (I have a laptop).
