After reformatting I only installed the following: MS office, malwarebytes, avast antivirus, msn messenger, firefox, google chrome, and an online game. You can try turning off your security software to see if this helps, but always make sure you have scanned your computer for viruses before switching the antivirus program off, AND I had difficulty downloading and running dds (it runs... However, in most cases, Windows XP freezes up is generally related to a corrupted operating system.
