Then decided to put Linux Fedora 4 on it. It's impossible to say, as the XP install process has no error reporting that I'm aware of. Ram is weird when it comes to the install, As it will mess things up, But after the install is complete the ram works fine??? But I decided to give it one more shot, this time unplugging all the other hard drives. I would go into the Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r on the drive/partition...and then I would try the repair install anew. I have a new VAIO laptop that cam pre installed with VISTA.
